Rosann Englebretson
A professor at Colorado Christian University, Dr. Rosann Englebretson teaches in the Curriculum and Instruction Master’s program and teacher licensure programs. She speaks extensively, is a guest lecturer, and does inservice and teacher training workshops. Prior to joining CCU, Dr. Englebretson taught in the University of Colorado’s Continuing Education Division in Colorado Springs. Other professional experience includes teaching preschool in California and Colorado, and elementary school in Colorado.

Elfrieda H. Hiebert
Currently Visiting Research Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Elfrieda (Freddy) H. Hiebert has worked in the field of early reading acquisition for 35 years and has published more than 100 research articles and chapters on how instructional and assessment practices influence literacy acquisition, especially among low-income children. She has worked as a teacher-educator and researcher at the Universities of Kentucky, Colorado-Boulder, and Michigan. At the present time, she’s investigating the difficulty of current beginning reading textbooks and designing curricula and texts for English-language learners.

Connie Juel
While a Professor at Stanford University School of Education, Dr. Connie Juel works in elementary schools with teachers and students interested in literacy acquisition. Before joining the faculty of Stanford, she was a Professor at Harvard University Graduate School of Education, Professor and Director of Studies in Learning to Read at the McGuffey Reading Center, Director of CIERA at the University of Virginia, and a Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Idaho.
