Star light, star bright
Star Light Star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.
When that I was but a little tiny boy
When that I was but a little tiny boy,
With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy,
And the rain it raineth every day.
With a hey, ho, the wind and the rain,
A foolish thing was but a toy.
Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
Then up Jack got and home did trot
As fast as he could caper;
And went to bed to mend his head
With vinegar and brown paper.
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school one day,
Which was against the rule;
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.
Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe
She had so many children she didn't know what to do.
She gave them some broth without any bread,
Then whipped them all soundly
And put them to bed.
How are coral reefs formed?
Coral reefs are built by the action of millions of tiny stay-at-home animals which live in colonies. Each animal has a small cylindrical body with a number of tentacles around a mouth at one end. The tentacles work to catch smaller animals and bring them into the mouth.
How are rocks made?
A neat answer to your question is that geologists classify rocks into three types according to the way in which they were formed.
IGNEOUS rocks such as granite were formed by the cooling of hot liquid magmas from deep down in the earth. SEDIMENTARY rocks were formed by the settling and cementing together of smaller particles. Limestone is a common example. It was made from the shells of marine animals that had been ground up by wave action.
How do trees give oxygen?
As other green plants, trees have leaves that contain little green chemical factories. These are able to use the energy of sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into chemical compounds such as sugars. As a by-product of that chemical reaction oxygen is given off.
How does bread mold grow from bread?
There are a number of molds that will grow on bread. I think the most common is called (naturally) the bread mold, Rhizopus.
With a magnifying glass you may be able to see that the bulk of the mold is a mass of tiny colorless threads that grow down into the bread. They make enzymes that dissolve and digest the bread into goodies that they can use for growth.
How does an airplane work?
I believe you want to know how an airplane can fly. There are two parts of the answer to that. First we need some kind of engine to make the plane go forward through the air.
